About Rush the Vote

Rock the Vote has created a new initiative called "Rush the Vote!" The purpose is designed to encourage sororities and fraternities across the country to emphasize their commitment to civic engagement by running voter registration campaigns on campuses and in their communities. Rush the Vote will grow to include customizable fliers and t-shirts that allow chapters to showcase their involvement.

In the Fall, Rush the Vote will launch a competition by showcasing Greek registration leaders on the Rock the Vote website. With the involvement of chapters across the country, the efforts of the Greek community will be integral to helping meet Rock the Vote’s ambitious goal of registering 2,000,000 young voters for the 2008 election!

Here’s what you need to do. It’s simple!

   1. Place a Rock the Vote Widget On Each Participating Chapter’s Webpage.
          * Visit www.rockthevote.com/partners to register your chapter for a widget.
          * In the organization field you MUST type: (sorority/fraternity name), (chapter name), (college/university) Ex: Kappa Delta, Epsilon, LSU
          * A password and administrative interface is automatically e-mailed to you.
          * Upload the widget code to your website.
          * You’re done!

Rock the Vote will then provide national monthly tallies of each chapter’s performance.  

   2. Encourage members of each chapter to message their friends.  SEND AN E-MAIL BLAST.  Here is a sample:
