De Nishia Yearby has been a renowned journalist in the making since 1995. Growing up in Chicago, Ill. and later moving into a Chicago suburb, De Nishia was able to witness the inner-problems of the two communities. At the age of nine, she began making public speeches around the Chicago area about pressing issues affecting the community. De Nishia has had the honor to speak for many of Chicago’s great leaders such as Rev. Jesse Jackson, the Operation P.U.S.H Coalition and Mayor Richard M. Daley. De Nishia is a fourth-year broadcast journalism student at Florida A&M University (FAMU). This Fall, De Nishia will go to Ghana, Africa to film an independent documentary.
