I went to see Rob Hanna!!!... so funny... he was a rod stewart impersonator.. i was about 7 at the time, and didnt even know the difference...
If you couldn’t be a musician, what would you be doing instead?
... i love to sew and make clothing for my friends and myself...... i also really love to type.. i wanted to be a hair stylist when i was growing up.. i also really wanted to be a librarian, and a grocery clerk... oh the options.. and how i LOVE options!!!!
If you could collaborate with one artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
it would be really interesting to put music to the voice of anais nin... i really enjoy reading her books.. she's actually one of the only authors i can read so quickly through... it could make for a rather unique music project... beautiful melodic bass lines, with her eloquent and crass words, spoken ever so gently... hmmmm... ya never know.. i also would love to make and album or 2 with josh klinghoffer.. he's the best musician with an incredible ear.. he's also one of the funniest people i know, so there will be tons of laughter...
What social cause is closest to your heart?
EQUAL MARRIAGE FOR SAME SEX COUPLES!!... what is the big deal?.. it's ridiculous.. all the fuss, and energy that goes into neglecting the right to do this is absurd ... there is so much wrong with and in this world, and this is what people are wasting precious and valuable time on...it's INSANE ... it aint no thang.
What does the right to vote mean to you?
options... the right to choose what it is you want, and how you want things to be..
What bands or artists did you listen to when you were in high school? And which bands or artists influenced your style the most?
i was absolutely obsessed with the cure... and i listened to depeche mode, pet shop boys, the smiths, ani difranco, smashing pumpkins, mazzy star, tori amos, cranberries, and any late 90's one hit wonder.. its not until after i graduated when i acquired the yearn to learn and expand my musical library and intelligence. basically, that happened when i started playing music..
What activity or group were you involved with in high school that might surprise people today?
i was in the student body my freshman year... i also took tae kwon do..(my mother made me)
What's the biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in high school? (could be personal or academic)
my first boyfriend.. i was too young to feel all those feelings.. i wasnt responsible enough to be held accountable for my actions. it was hard and heartbreaking ...
Do you do any volunteer or community work when you're not on tour?
i've been meaning to go with a group of my friends to feed the homeless.. i really need to do it already!!!. like tomorrow..
What change would you like to see in our society in the next year?
all change starts with thyself... i would like to nurture my body, be kind to those around me, follow through with the things i say( time to get to those shelters! ha!), and to be the most excellent i can be, by trying my absolute best in all that i do, in hopes that the people around me will feel inspired to do the same....
