Tell us about your first concert experience:
DA: My first concert
experience was Living Colour when I was three years old, my dad took me in a
stroller, 1984, they were headling the Black Rock Coalition in Central
Park. When I was 15, I saw Pearl
Jam at Randall’s Island, Ben Harper opened up for them, they played for three
hours. Harper came out HARD, yo!
If you couldn’t be a musician, what would you be doing instead?
Terminator Dave: I would
probably be a hard body music biz hustler/shark.
If you could collaborate with one artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
DA: James Brown man. He paid the cost to be the boss.
If you became President, what is the first action you would take?
DA: Legalize gay marriage.
Edara: I would help single
moms who need support in tough times.
Axis: Get teachers better
pay and benefits.
What social cause is closest to your heart?
Maniac Mike: American Cancer
Society
Baby G: Save the Music!!!
What does the right to vote
mean to you?
DA: Right to
choose and cause change!!! Right to move the human race in a positive
direction!
What bands or artists did you listen to when you were in high school? And which bands or artists influenced your style the most?
Terminator Dave: Green Day,
Sublime, 311, Beastie Boys
Maniac Mike: Nirvana, Alice
in Chains, Metallica, STP
DA: Zepplin, Sabbath,
Pantera, Metallica
A-Lex: STP, Pink Floyd,
Megadeath
Baby G: Janet Jackson,
Michael Jackson, Boys II Men, NSync, New Kids on the Block
Axis: Biggie and Wu Tang
What activity or group were you involved with in high school that might surprise people today?
Terminator Dave: the break
dance team
DA: Bowling team (and the
baseball team, but anyone who knows me wouldn’t be surprised about that.
Baby G: Basketball
team! For one game, then I quit.
Axis: Ice Hockey
What's the biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in high school? (could be personal or academic)
DA: being small and white at
the worst HS in NYC.
Terminator + Maniac: Getting
over ADD … it was so hard to study and concentrate; then we got some medicine
that straightened us out, and we started killing the school game!
A-Lex: Exact same thing as
the twins, I had ADD and a difficult time focusing on what I needed to do to
move forward and learn things.
Axis: I moved around a lot,
had to make new friends a lot.
Do you do any volunteer or community work when you're not on tour?
DA: I wish, we are always
hustling, on the grind right now. It would be nice to have time to give back
like that beyond just writing some checks. I like to loan our name to charity
events and hope to volunteer more after we release Rock Hood and end our tour.
What change would you like to see in our society in the next year?
DA: Fix that economy! People
need jobs!
Axis: Peace on Earth
DA: Yeah I want that too!
Terminator Dave: If you go
to college, you should be able to get a job.
