Tell us about your first concert experience:
My best friend Lisa Mcintire's Uncle took us to Cher Madison Square Garden. We were 15 in NYC for the first time and Cher killed it.

If you couldn’t be a musician, what would you be doing instead?
Fashion Photographer, Egyptology Archaeologist,

If you could collaborate with one artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Elvis and Johnny Cash I love these guys, so dangerous, country, charming and amazing performers in their own way. Elvis and I would perform in Vegas together, he definitely be a DJ now, if he was young. Johnny Cash and I would be on a whole other tip we would do a rock show at Townhouse in Venice Beach and do harmonies together on sweet country songs. I find early country song writing so fascinating, and my mothers family is from the south. These artists songs we sing at birthdays and funerals.

If you became President, what is the first action you would take?
I would balance the budget and tax the cooperate assholes. take out all the loop holes that rich people use for taxes, that arent available if you dont have millions. Also I would make birth control free and sex education more sex positive less abstinence, cause face it our politicians cant even keep it in their pants how do they expect teenagers too?

What social cause is closest to your heart?
Feminism, ending sexism, equality for women

What does the right to vote mean to you?
choices, a voice, America

What bands or artists did you listen to when you were in high school? And which bands or artists influenced your style the most?
Riotgrrl music, there was a time i listened to all women singers, bikini kill, the raincoats, chick on speed, tori amos, fiona apple, portishead. Alot of it influenced my politics and opened my eyes to non-mormon thought processes. my mom i remember would take my cds, if she heard bad words or the screaming (bikini kil). l so i was a headphone teen in my room. I worked at a non-profit music venue for teens in Tucson AZ, that was my life. It is called Skrappys (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skrappys) it still exist. It was all hardcore, punk, and rock. In my later teens I became obsessed with underground hip hop, I actually threw B-Boy competitions that I'd host and book the DJs. I went to one rave when I was 14 but my perants found out and I got grounded for a year, so electronic music and me didnt meet till later in life.

What activity or group were you involved with in high school that might surprise people today?
Student council i was a representative 8 and 9 grade. When Beastie boys were promoting Students for a Free Tibet, I called and got a starter Kit, I sent over 700 signed letters i collected. Spoke in the social studies class and raised money. All from listening to my favorite artist. I think its great when artist speak for causes, it sure influenced me. In 8th grade the school started a wrestling team, i petitioned to be on it, they werent allowing girls. I fought the school, to let me be on the team for 2 months. By the time i was on it and we were practicing, the only tournament left was the finals. So we got our ass kicked. I was the only girl out 350 boys there though.

What's the biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in high school? (could be personal or academic)
I was raised Mormon so I was a virgin, sober, religious, flat chested, theatre nerd. But through the Skrappys music scene I had a whole scene outside of school, it really saved my life, music. I actually left high school and my perants house at 17, i wasnt into the situation there. I moved into a YMCA building in downtown Tucson and started plotting to get to LA. Everything was very dramatic when I was teenager, probably why Im still rebelling.

What change would you like to see in our society in the next year?
