Our system does suck, but that doesn't mean we have to left the government take it over. That's just going to screw over everyone, especially older people (look at Ezekiel Immanual's plan [the health care advisor]). Why not open up competition across state lines so insurance companies can't screw us over and get tort reform so lawyer's don't run the place either. This will make it affordable for everyone, instead of a crazy huge corrupt government telling us which doctors/operations/equipment we can have.

I am a grandmother with a few years to go before being old enough for medicare. So I have just about made it over the line. What will I do? I will CONTINUE TO SUPPORT YOUNG PEOPLE by working FOR HEALTH CARE REFORM, Single Payeer being my choice, public option number 2. Hey young folks: You have most of the older folk at your back this time. It isn't like the 60's when the older folk hated us. We love you guys and WANT you to have a future. I will never, ever buy health insurance from any of the companies who have supported the removal of the public option. Ever. Even if I have to be sick or in debt they will never get a red cent of my paycheck. My husband and son have diabetes Type 1 and our insurance expires in 10 days. COBRA will cost us $1200/month. We can't swing it and I don't know what to do. I had so much hope in our president and feel he tried to help us but was shot down by studpid selfish politicians who have their own personal agendas. Very ashamed of America these days.

Stop compromising the bill away and dig in so, we get a meaningful bill. "We the people" want & need this and "we the people" cannot afford to let the status quo stand. "We the people" elect the President + the members of Congress NOT the insurance companies they do however,contribute money to those entities which gives them a disproportionate voice in matters such as this. Regarless of what flavor of Health Reform passes they will be just fine regardless of what kind of bill is passed, they will adjust accordingly admittedly, they don't want to have to but "we the people" need to make them because...bottom line...we are fighting for our own survival.

I am a healthy, stable 43 year old father of two who pays over 20% of my income for health care (over $15,000) because I have a bipolar condition, ie., pre-existing condition. I manage my condition and am no greater risk to insurance companies but I get jacked. I only have one health care provider, BCBS, that will insure me. They have a monopoly on me! That's not freedom. And me and my family can't survive under the current plan.
