In order to vote in the November 4, 2008 election, your registration must be postmarked or dropped off no later than October 10, 2008, or you can register on Election Day.

Idaho offers Election Day registration. If you register at the polls on Election Day, you must provide proof of residence. All documents used in providing proof of residence shall be accompanied with a photo I.D. Only the following documents showing the registrant's current address in the precinct are authorized:

  • a valid Idaho driver's license issued through the department of transportation
  • a valid Idaho identification card issued through the department of transportation
  • any document which contains a valid address in the precinct together with a picture identification card
  • Students may also use a current valid student identification card from a post secondary educational institution in Idaho accompanied with a current student fee statement that contains the student's valid address in the precinct together with a picture identification card.

Each county in Idaho sets its own early voting window, typically beginning in the first week of October and ending on Monday, November 3, 2008. Contact your County Clerk’s office for specific dates and times, and to find out what ID to bring to the polls.

Date: Tuesday, November 4, 2008, 8:00 AM -- 8:00 PM

County clerks have the discretion to open polls beginning at 7:00 AM. Call your county clerk to find out if voting between 7:00AM and 8:00AM is available in your town.

If you are registering to vote at your polling place, you will need one of the types of ID listed under Voter Registration.
