Two Young Stars Urge Young Americans to Rock the Vote for Health Care Reform

Rock the Vote, Funny or Die Update the Old "Call Your Congressman" Adage

Washington, DC - December 17, 2009

Two young stars are urging young people to "rock the vote any way you can" for health care reform in a new video for Rock the Vote.  Eva Amurri of Showtime's Californication and Zach Gilford from NBC's Friday Night Lights suggest some unconventional ways of getting young people and their representatives in Congress to pay attention to their needs in the health care reform debate.  The video was produced by Funny or Die and featured live on their homepage www.funnyordie.com.

"As health care reform makes its way through Congress, we want to remind young people that they have a stake - and a say - in the debate," said Heather Smith, president of Rock the Vote.  "Young people are the most uninsured age group in America and are living and dying with this issue every day.  More Americans under that age of 30 voted in the 2008 elections than people over the age of 65.  And we need to keep rocking the vote so that politicians pay attention."
